Azerbaijan and Georgia discuss issues of territorial cooperation

The main topic of the regional conference held today in the Georgian region of Kakheti were the advantages and opportunities of territorial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The conference's theme is "The way to strengthen territorial cooperation of the Eastern Partnership countries: the program of territorial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia." Common problems of economic and social development of the border areas of the two countries have been in the focus of discussion.

The Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of GUAM was held today during the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. It was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Moldova and the national coordinator of GUAM's Secretary General.The Foreign Ministers discussed the political and sectoral cooperation within GUAM, as well as with partner countries, and the implementation of the UN Resolution on Cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development .

 Azerbaijan and Georgia will sign an interstate agreements supported by the EU to protect water resources of the Kura River that flows between the two states, Georgia Online reports.The agreements reflects the basic principles of the Helsinki Accords.
